Privacy Policy

A privacy policy for a site like this is going to be a little bit different from the statements you might find on a corporate website. Basically, this site doesn't collect information from anyone, except in cases in which a visitor signs up for an email distribution list or other feature. In that case, I promise not to sell your information, ever, or share it with anyone that is not administering a list, without telling you first. If you get some spam that you think came from someone that bought your address from me, I'll be glad to take a polygraph to the effect that I did not sell your email address. I hate spam. If I fail the test, you can punch me in the eye. Hard.

One other thing, I don't generally use cookies, but I may add them in the future. It is a common misconception that cookies are somehow a way to get more information about somebody - they really are just a programming convenience. Your browser, by default, will not share cookies across domains. That is, a cookie from dstone.com will only be shared by your browser while you are visiting dstone.com. And my server already knows what is in there, because my server told your browser what to store in the cookie. I can use cookies to remember when you last visited my page, and I can use cookies to remember the things you like to see, but I can't use a cookie to tell me anything that I haven't already said.
